Protecting Children Just Got Easier

Many of you are aware of the Virginia Graeme Baker Act passed by congress to protect children in commercial swimming pool settings, but there is a way you can protect children in their backyard.

In past issues we discussed different ways to keep children from sneaking into the pool when supervision is unavailable.

1. Motion alarms on all doors and gates leading to the pool area.

2. A secondary fence around the pool.

3. A motion alarm in the pool.

While these are great protection devices, sometimes they are not enough. There is a great way to protect your children from the possibility of injury when you are present and everything seems innocuous.

Replacing your current main drain cover with a larger drain cover can help reduce or eliminate the horrendous accidents that can occur when a child is trapped by the main drain and cannot break free.

A larger main drain cover spreads the suction over a larger area and makes the possibility of entrapment very unlikely.

The newly designed and affordable compliant anti-entrapment drain covers are easily retrofitted to existing drains and are instrumental in the effort to prevent future devastating injuries and drowning deaths.

If you are interested in receiving a quote on replacing your current main drain cover with an anti-entrapment cover, please contact us and we will be happy to assist.

Meanwhile, please make sure to keep children away from the main drain and design rules for their protection.

Our motto is: “Safety first and everything else second.”
